She asorbs both positive and negative vibrations that are around her.
History: Born in December of 1710 Artemis and her twin brother Apollo were the youngest of seven kids. All of the children being named after Greek gods whom their parents worshiped secretly. The Irish born family had girls that looked like they were Irish with the red hair and blue eyes. Artemis was a bit of a wild child in her youth but soon grew out of it only having shinanigans with her brother Apollo from time to time. When she was three she knew that Queen Anne's War ended, by the time she was six Gottfried Willhelm Leibniz, German philospher, courtier, diplomat lawyer and librarian dies. The first theater was built. She was seven when mother goose appears in print for the first time. By the time she was thirteen Benjamin Franklin left Boston for Philadelphia.
When she was seventeen she met a man who worked at the theater that was passing through and he offered her a position. She took it not wanting to marry the man that he parents had chosen for her. She went with the young man, Andre, and he turned her into a vampire. She didn't know what to do because he just leaves her to fend for herself. She went back home to her family who she killed being starving the only one who survived was her brother who Andre also found and made into a vampire as well. Andre helped nurture the two young vampires after that until they were old enough to fend for themselves.
In 1750 Artemis was sick of England and Ireland and Europe all together and she booked herself passage to the Americas saying that she was a mail order bride for a young man in the Americas. She got onto the boat that was blessedly free of rats because of her. She mostly kept to herself in a bunk with her coffin so that she could sleep during the day light hours. When she finally reached the americas she got off of the ship with no money and no way of knowing what to do. She travelled around feeding and taking things from people that she fed from so she could survive with as few questions as humanly possible. She kind of watched the world go past her as she travelled. She never made another vampire for her own companion and her brother never came to join her in the United States as they were starting to call them.
She was just kind of seeing things happen and taking them in. She eventually found a small coven of vampires who took her in from 1800-1899. She found that she didn't enjoy taking human life as much as they did though but remained with them simply because it was convienient for her to do so. She didn't have any papers or anything. She soon figured out how to forge her own papers of living and dying and everything like that.
Growing bored of the United States she made the decision to travel back to Europe. She spends 1900-1950 in Europe travelling around trying to find her twin and just kind of make herself something different from other vampires around her. She wanted to leave during WWII but couldn't due to the fact that she had to stay hidden because of her families religious background that she hadn't followed in years though. She found herself trying to ghost her way through world war two. Seeing up close the effects the war had on people in concentration camps and how the people around her behaved about the people in concentration camps. She just hated watching it. When the war finally ended she stayed in Europe for five more years to help people recover from the war but always secretly and never publicly.
Going back to the United states in the fifties she came back to a different world that was looking to get things like civil rights for blacks and other races. She was kind of highly involved with the movement but once again in the background never anywhere where her picture would end up in anything she just wanted to help she didn't want to be seen by other people who were going to tell her what to do and have her be in the pictures and things.
In 1960 she saw her twin brother again but never spoke to him just letting him move on with his life as she had hers. She finally found the closure she wanted for her brother and then just let things go from there. She joined up at the school when they came and asked her if she wanted to be part of the school for vampires and humans. She met James there and started to fall for him but isn't really sure how to talk to him.
